Hello, my name is Glen Matthews, I am a writer, director & editor currently residing in Toronto, Ontario (originally from Lunenburg, Nova Scotia).

I was an actor for nearly a decade, working alongside some of my home province’s best filmmakers, which inspired me to get behind the camera myself and start making my own films . . .

  • In 2012, I wrote & directed the short film ROOM SERVICE, which won multiple festival awards and went on to the finals of CBC’S SHORT FILM FACEOFF.
    _
  • In 2014, released SAVING FACE, which was selected by TELEFILM CANADA to be featured at NOT SHORT ON TALENT 2015 in Clermont-Ferrand, France.
    _
  • In response to the Nova Scotian Liberal Party’s decision to severely reduce the Film Tax Credit in 2015, wrote & directed LIBERALS 2015. The short video gathered 15,000 views in less than one week.
    _
  • Took part in the ATLANTIC FILM FESTIVAL’S 2015 SCRIPT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (Telefilm / Harold Greenberg Fund) where I wrote the feature film script WRESTLE ISLAND under the mentorship of writer / director Michael Melski.
    _
  • In 2016, moved to Toronto, Ontario to focus on filmmaking endeavours, recently completing the pilot for the web series, GRAVE CONCERNS, about two gravediggers in the Wild West, due for release in 2017.
