Walter Forsythe‘s short film, THE LUCKIEST MOST UNLUCKY MAN IN THE WORLD (produced through Bravo!FACT), which played the Atlantic Film Festival in September, is now available for [you, yes you] you’re viewing!

I grew up worshipping MR. BEANACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE and other slapstick comedies, so this was my first chance to do the whole “physical humour” thing (insert SEX & VIOLENCE joke here) and I really loved it. For whatever reason, it’s not too often that I get to do family-friendly stuff, so please, grab yo’ kids and let the whole family laugh at this idiot bumping into things…

Script co-written by John Davies (HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN), and co-starring Amy Kerr and the forever-lovely, Vanessa Walton-Bone (whom you may have seen being awesome in my short film, ROOM SERVICE).

Thanks for watching!

October has been very, very good to me. Here’s a rundown of everything I’ve been up to (not included: pumpkin carving and gourd juggling)…

Early in the month, I starred in Scott Simpson‘s short film, THE TOLL (pictured above), alongside Emma Rosen, Pasha Ebrahimi and Mark Owen.

Two weeks ago, I shot an episode of CityTV’s SEED. Episode 6 of the 2nd season, to be exact. The 2nd season will begin airing in early 2014, until then head over to the CityTV website and catch up on da’ funnies:

Last week I started work on Andrea Dorfman‘s locally produced feature film, HEARTBEAT. “After her boyfriend leaves town, Justine, depressed and unfulfilled, picks up her neglected guitar which takes her on a journey that gets her heart beating for the first time in years.” Head over to the HEARTBEAT Facebook page to stay up to date: http://www.facebook.com/heartbeatthemovie

Last but damn well not least, principal photography on my next short film, SAVING FACE, is now complete and we’re headed into the editing suite (AKA my desk) very shortly! I just sent out the t-shirts, cards, and other IndieGoGo perks earlier today:

October, you’re my bro.

Shooting has wrapped on Walter Forsyth‘s short film THE LUCKIEST MOST UNLUCKY MAN IN THE WORLD wherein I play Mr. Horace Cloverdale (above).

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m really excited for you guys to see this one.

It wasn’t until we were finished the first day of shooting that I realized that this was exactly the type of role I’ve wanted to play since I agreed to partake in this absurd profession. Growing up, I was a huge fan of MR. BEAN and Jackie Chan, and without giving much (or anything) away, this film allowed me to flex my prat-fall-muscle.

This shoot reminded me of what it was like to make movies with my friends in my teens: run & gun loosely controlled chaos.

The film was written by John Davies (HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN) and features the supreme on-screen talents of Amy Kerr and Vanessa Walton Bone (who played the lead in my short film, ROOM SERVICE). Intrigued?

Stay tuned for info!

Next month, I’ll be making the journey back to Nova Scotia to act in, and co-Produce Walter Forsythe‘s THE LUCKIEST MOST UNLUCKY GUY IN THE WORLD.

The short film, which is written by HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN scribe, John Davies, is going to be made possible by Bravo!FACT funding (bravofact.com), which has been responsible for some of my all-time favourite Canadian short films (I’m looking at you, THE LEGEND OF BEAVER DAM). Needless to say, I’m happy to be on board.

Director Walter Forsyth previously Produced Andrea Dorfman‘s HOW TO BE ALONE through Bravo!FACT funding, and aside from winning plenty of awards (as well as praise from Roger Ebert), the film also happens to be awesome. See below for awesome-proof:

Also, according to my count, this will mark my seventh time working with Director of Photography, Jeff Wheaton… It must be love.

We’ll be shooting in late July, stay tuned for more.

Side-note: You like the new website design? Don’t lie to me, dammit!
